It’s no secret that the cost of a college education has skyrocketed in recent years. Huge student loans taken out for a 4 year education have strapped many students as they enter their career, making it difficult to get ahead or even make ends meet. Union Colony Schools (UCS) wants to help reduce the burden of college tuition by offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to earn a free college degree and college credits.  

Concurrent Enrollment with Aims Community College

Union Colony Preparatory School is situated across from Aims Community College (ACC), providing a convenient opportunity for all students to earn college credits while still in high school. We offer concurrent enrollment for UCS students to take ACC courses, free of charge, and earn credits toward their college education. Students are invited to choose from the college’s wide variety of career and technical courses, as well as foundational courses that can transfer to a four year institution. Free college credits in high school = less time in college = less tuition. 

ASCENT Program

It is possible for hard-working students to earn an associate’s degree (two years of free college!) from ACC without any financial cost. 

Union Colony Preparatory School is proud to participate in the Accelerating Students Through Concurrent Enrollment Program (ASCENT). This free program offers Colorado students tuition coverage for one additional year at Aims Community College after a student’s senior year. 

If you are interested in this program, it’s important to start planning early in your high school education. UCS college and career counselors are available to help you make this plan a reality. Qualified students who have completed at least 9 credit hours of postsecondary coursework prior to completion of their 12th grade year may be eligible for the ASCENT Program.
